Cookie Policy
Effective 5 October 2026. This page explains the small browser files used by Klymer and how readers can manage them.
1. What Cookies Do
A cookie is a short text value stored by a browser. It can help a site remember a preference or understand whether a page request is part of a session. Cookies cannot read unrelated files on your device.
2. Essential Session
Essential session cookies support basic navigation and security and normally expire when the browser closes. They are used because the site cannot reliably provide requested functionality without them.
3. Preference Cookie
The cookieChoice value records whether a reader selected Accept or Reject in the banner. It is stored by the browser and reviewed for up to 12 months. Removing browser data removes this choice and may show the banner again.
4. Analytics
If optional analytics are enabled, they may use a pseudonymous identifier and event data such as page path and approximate country. Analytics cookies may last up to 13 months. Klymer does not use them to infer medical conditions.
5. Consent
Optional cookies are not intended to load before an affirmative choice. Rejecting them does not prevent access to editorial pages. A reader may change the choice by clearing site data in the browser.
6. Third Parties
Hosted fonts, security services or embedded resources may set their own cookies where enabled. Their names and lifespans can change under their documentation. Klymer seeks to limit third-party technologies to what is proportionate.
7. Browser Controls
Most browsers allow cookies to be blocked, deleted or limited by site. Blocking essential values may affect navigation. Browser help pages explain controls for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
8. Do Not Track
Browser privacy signals may not have a single technical meaning across providers. Klymer reviews available signals and continues to reduce unnecessary tracking. You may always reject optional cookies through the banner.
9. Retention
Session values expire at close, preference values are reviewed after 12 months and analytics identifiers after up to 13 months. Server logs related to cookie consent may be retained for up to 24 months for accountability.
10. Contact
Questions can be sent to Klymer at Jalan Anggrek Raya No. 15, Kemanggisan, Palmerah, Jakarta Barat 11480, Indonesia, or +62 813 5792 4680.
11. Privacy Link
Cookie information is part of our broader privacy explanation. Read privacy.php for collection, rights, processors and international transfer information.
12. Revision Log
5 October 2026: initial publication. Future revisions will include the effective date and a short description of material changes.
Cookie inventory and review
Names and lifespans can vary by deployment, but the intended categories are limited. A session identifier may be created by the hosting layer and normally expires when the browser session ends. The cookieChoice preference may remain for up to 12 months. An optional analytics identifier, where enabled after consent, may remain for up to 13 months and should not contain a name, email address or message text.
Security controls may use short-lived values to distinguish normal requests from suspicious traffic. These values are reviewed by the hosting or security provider and are not intended to build an advertising profile. Embedded content, if introduced, may set a third-party cookie only after the relevant feature is enabled and the provider's own policy applies.
Consent is recorded so Klymer can respect a reader's choice. A reader may withdraw or change that choice by clearing site data, using the banner where it is shown, or contacting Klymer at Jalan Anggrek Raya No. 15, Kemanggisan, Palmerah, Jakarta Barat 11480, Indonesia, phone +62 813 5792 4680. Requests are normally acknowledged within five business days.
Some processing may occur through providers located outside Indonesia. Klymer expects those providers to apply appropriate security, confidentiality and transfer safeguards, and optional analytics remain disabled when the reader rejects them. Browser settings can provide additional controls, although blocking essential cookies may affect session navigation.
Change record: this policy is effective 5 October 2026. It will be reviewed at least annually and updated when cookie names, purposes, providers, consent controls or maximum lifespans materially change.
The cookie categories are intentionally narrow. A session value supports continuity while a reader moves between pages, a preference value remembers the banner choice, and optional measurement may record an event such as a page view. None of these purposes requires storing the text of an article message in a cookie.
Typical names may include a hosting session identifier, cookieChoice for the consent preference and a pseudonymous analytics identifier. Session values normally expire when the browser closes; cookieChoice may remain for up to 12 months; and optional analytics values may remain for up to 13 months. Names can change when a hosting or consent tool is updated, so the purpose and maximum lifespan are the more reliable description.
Essential values are used on the basis that they support a requested page function. Optional analytics are enabled only after an affirmative choice where the banner is presented. A later rejection stops future optional placement, but a limited consent record may be kept for up to 24 months to document the preference and prevent repeated prompts.
Vendors can include the hosting provider, a consent-management service, security infrastructure and an analytics provider configured for aggregate reporting. Third-party content may have its own cookies and privacy terms, especially if a future page embeds a media player or external resource. Klymer does not control a vendor's independent retention schedule and reviews whether an embed is necessary before enabling it.
Readers can remove cookies through browser settings, site-data controls or the consent interface where available. Clearing all values may cause the preference banner to return and may sign the reader out of a session. Questions about cookie use can be sent to Jalan Anggrek Raya No. 15, Kemanggisan, Palmerah, Jakarta Barat 11480, Indonesia, or +62 813 5792 4680; enquiries are normally acknowledged within five business days.
Change record: this policy is effective 5 October 2026 and is scheduled for review in October 2027. Material changes to names, purposes, providers or lifespans will receive a dated update.
